FAQ

What teams ask before a demo.

What happens to our current lists?

They're uploaded, validated row by row and written to the platform. Your column layout is mapped at setup, so you don't need to reformat anything. Export stays available for reporting and bulk edits — but the record now lives in the platform.

How do we move our existing inventory?

Your control list, process taxonomy and risk register are read from their own files; your columns are mapped to ControlPilot fields at setup. The first output is a list of where your data is broken today.

Where does our data live?

Control definitions, risk texts, process structure and the activity log — all in your database. Access is permission-based: the specialist proposes, the manager approves, and both are logged.

Is this a GRC platform?

Yes. The difference is in how it is set up: global GRC suites try to set up everything at once, and that takes months. ControlPilot starts from the control record; testing, audit, risk and IT modules all work on that same record, and it all runs on your own servers.

Can the screens be adapted to how we work?

Yes. If you need a different screen or report layout, you tell us and the team that builds the product sets it up — no integrator in between.

Does the AI feature send our data outside?

The AI feature is optional; while it's off, no control or risk text leaves your network. If you turn it on, it's integrated with your organisation's own AI tool. A generated draft never goes straight into the inventory: it lands in the approval queue and isn't written to master data until a person approves it.
